Where Land, Culture, and Community Come Together
Where Land, Culture, and Community Come Together
Nestled on 327 acres of open fields, forest, and pristine waterfront in Northwestern Ontario, our Camp is a place where children, youth, and families come together to connect with nature, culture, and each other. At the Youth & Family Wellness Camp, we believe in creating spaces where joy, curiosity, and community thrive—where everyone feels welcomed, supported, and inspired to grow.
Our Mission, Vision, and Values
Over the next few months, we’ll be starting a strategic planning process for the Youth & Family Wellness Camp. This work is about taking a step back to reflect on where the Camp is today, listening to the voices of our communities and staff, and setting clear priorities for where we’re headed. We can’t wait to share what we learn!
Until then… We envision an Indigenous led community where youth and families can explore the outdoors, build resilience, and celebrate culture and community in a safe and nurturing environment. Through hands-on experiences, land-based learning, and cultural teachings, we help participants build confidence, life skills, and a sense of belonging.

Why Camp Matters
At the heart of the Youth & Family Wellness Camp is community. Here, youth, families form lasting connections, discover their strengths, and celebrate
the beauty of the land and culture.
By blending education, recreation, and wellness, we offer transformative experiences that leave participants feeling empowered, inspired, and ready to carry these lessons into their everyday lives.
Our Community
Guided by a vision for a space where community, culture, and connection come together, the Youth & Family Wellness Camp was born on land purchased by the Kenora Chiefs Advisory (KCA) in 2020. Owned and nurtured by the eight KCA member nations, the Camp has grown into a vibrant place where youth, families, and communities gather to learn, play, and reconnect with the land.
In 2025, as Camp worked towards becoming its own independent entity, Ma’mo’weh Wii’soo’ka’tiwin Foundation dedicated its efforts entirely to supporting flexible and sustainable funding, helping to ensure the Camp’s programs continue to flourish. Through every step, we are guided by—and for—the communities we serve. Here, the goal is simple: to create a place where relationships with culture, with community, and with oneself can grow and thrive.
We are deeply grateful for the support that has brought us here, and we look to the future with excitement, curiosity, and a commitment to welcoming everyone to our land.
